Why “Alpine Dispatches”?
Glad you asked.
You see, we (me, my wife and our son) live in a small little village tucked away in a corner of the upper Simmental Valley. In the Berner Oberland Region of Kanton Bern, Switzerland.
In other words: in the The Swiss Alps 🏔️🇨🇭🫕.
Here we ride bikes, visit lakes and mountain peaks, ski, hike, trail run or just spend time at home.
And, of course, it is where I write these newsletters from.
Who am I?
Hey, I'm Cornelius.
A South African landscape and lifestyle photographer based in Switzerland.
I used to be a full time professional photographer (15 years), and have always been drawn to the natural landscape, especially the ocean, where I grew up in South Africa. And of course the mountains, both in South Africa and here in Switzerland, where we now live as a family.
Since my professional photography career has been put on hold, I share my visual journey (and more) here on my Substack publication: Alpine Dispatches.
