Happy Holidays, Let's Go Skiing
As we near the end of the Earth's annual rotation around the sun, things are heating up (figuratively speaking) in our little corner of Switzerland as Winter get's into full swing.
And by “Happy Holidays”, I mean enjoy the time of year, wherever you are.
For my southern Hemisphere friends that means the hight of summer, with beach holidays and all related activities (hiking, surfing, trail running, biking, etc. - I’m jealous!). And actual holidays, as this is the long summer holidays for the schools too.
Here in the norther Hemisphere, it’s a bit colder.
And we don’t have actual holidays, as in a time off from work, here where we live.
It’s the Swiss Alps, which means Winter is peak season for many businesses, and we are approaching the peak part of the peak season.
It’s busy.
But we’ve had some early season snow since mid-November, which meant getting in some ski touring, and that is a great way to start any Winter season.

However, as we approach Christmas, or “The Day of Getting a Ridiculous Amount of Gifts” for a our 4 year old (I have made complaints), I found myself reflecting, briefly (it’s busy here, remember?!), on the year that’s been and what’s coming up.
This past year has been one of personal growth, especially starting this blog / newsletter (and keeping it up between work and family life), as well as traveling (we’ve been to Greece, more on that here and here, as well as South Africa, more on that in a future post). And of course a whole lot of working at the day job.
Work life balance has been, well, interesting.
But as a family, we’re finding our way.
Mostly.
There are ups and downs.
Some changes in the new year are also in the pipeline.
So, we’ll see how it goes.
But first, let’s enjoy the Winter!

How was your year?
And what are your plans for the future (and the holidays)?
