The State Of The Dispatch

I have been struggling with myself as to which direction I should go with this newsletter after one year (as you may know from my post three weeks ago). I think I have found the answer...

The three components that will make up Alpine Dispatches hence forth (L-R): Photography, The Outdoors, Life in the Swiss Alps.

Right, so, remember everything I mentioned to you in my newsletter three weeks ago?

I was lying!

Well, not really lying, to be fair.

I was just under the impression - as misdirected as it may have been - that I had to go in a certain direction with this publication.

But, upon much self reflection over the last few weeks, I realised it’s not what I want.

Let me explain.

But first, check out and give my man Phikey a listen below, so we’re on the same vibe (I’m listening to him as I’m writing this).

Here we go!

How Alpine Dispatches Started:

I started this newsletter and blog so I could share more about photography in the form of images, thoughts, techniques, photo essays, etc.

But over time I realised I also like sharing and showing about where we live here in the Swiss mountains.

Both from an outdoor adventure perspective and general family life.

So, upon much self reflection over the last three weeks, I decided that going forward, Alpine Dispatches will be a combination of the three:

Photography, The Outdoors and Life in the Swiss Alps.

What does this mean for you?

Well, more good things to come, I hope!

You can expect:

• Photography (image sets, techniques, reviews, etc.)

• Outdoor Adventures (ski touring, cycling, trail running, hiking, etc.)

• Life in the Swiss Alps, i.e. Swissness (insider guides, great finds, best places for, etc)

• Random finds (like the one from Phikey, above)

Some changes have been made, however:

• The AD logo has been cleaned up and simplified

• I have introduced referral rewards, for those who love sharing the stoke.

• The AD main page navigation has had some updates (have you noticed?)

• Our online shop, Seasonal Vagabond, has been added to the navigation as well.

The biggest change, however, will be the e-mail format that you receive in your inbox on a weekly basis.

You will still receive the weekly update, it will just be different - sometimes.

How so?

Well, you see, I have a lot of things to share, and sending you an e-mail every time I publish something seems a bit excessive.

So, instead, I will post a few times a week, but only send you a weekly summary / roundup with links to the relevant stuff.

That way, you can decide what you want to read and what not.
