Some Highlights & A Podcast Update
In this week’s newsletter: sitting next to a pool, we look at some popular posts, I struggle with the podcast and then I share some useful links found on the line.
It’s been a bit of a slow week here at Alpine Dispatches.
I’ve been sick.
First time in ages, and thankfully only briefly.
Back at it though, so let’s get to it.
Warm Weather
Like I mentioned last week, we have great swimming pool options here in the Swiss Alps.
And with the warmer weather we have been enjoying them thoroughly.
But we also have rivers.
Cold ones, as they flow from the glaciers higher up, but nonetheless on hot days it’s a great way to cool down (and keep kids busy).
Highlights
It’s always interesting to see which newsletter articles do well, as it can be so different from expectation.
That said, it’s all relative in any case.
I just like sharing the stoke both from a photography and life perspective.
In case you were wondering, the three most popular articles over the last while were:
the one about my simply great photo edits
dispatch from Annecy (well worth a visit, fyi)
my semi-rant about modern day film photography

Podcast in Hibernation
I had some good momentum when I started, but have been struggling to line up guests between life, work, writing, photography and schedules.
Plus, I’ve been trying to keep it local so as to be able to do talks in person.
Which I prefer as I think the rapport is on another level.
This of course makes things a bit more challenging (I’ve had a few confirmations cancelled on short notice).
I hope to pick it up again soon, though.
If you have a suggestion, know someone or would be keen to come on the podcast, let me know!
FYI, the podcast is focused on everyday people doing awesome stuff, so anyone is eligible.
You can check it out here.
And here is an episode I very much enjoyed making, with my mate and wine maker, Alex:
Great Finds
I’m always collecting links to things I find interesting or useful.
