Dispatch From Annecy

A little French joie de vivre for our summer holiday (sans much photography, but the wine is making up for it).

View towards the eastern shore of Lake Annecy, France.

A beautiful lake, boats, mountains and long daylight hours - a great opportunity for some photography in between the family holiday.

But it does not seem to be, this time around.

Make no mistake, I brought the camera with (we are still here for another week).

But for now it is still unused (unlike last year’s holiday dispatch from Corfu).

How so?

Simple:

We are camping.

As a family.

For the first time.

Lots to do, lots to do.

Our camp setup.

Even though both me and the wife have years of camping experience between us.

Me more in the remote sense, e.g. high mountains, light two person tent, minimal gear, etc.

She more in the family sense, e.g. caravan, camp ground, etc.

That was years ago, however.

But nothing, and I mean nothing, quite prepares you for setting off to a foreign country with a 5 year old boy, to set up camp.

Then came the rain…

Alas, let me not bore you with unimportant camp details.

We are actually having a great time

(In between looking for lost toys and fixing bleeding bumped up toes)
